CELEBRATE SCHOLASTIC JOURNALISM!
We’re excited about celebrating journalism and presenting awards to Michigan students.
MIPA’s annual Spring Awards & On-Site Contests event is focused on awards — lots of awards! Most students will meet for the exciting awards presentation in the morning, while others will take part in the On-Site Contests.
Enjoy watching all of the awards MIPA will be presenting in the morning. They include Individual Category Contests for yearbook, newspaper, new media and video production; Golden Pen; MIPA’s all-state Student Journalist Staff and All-MIPA!
We also hope students from each participating school will join in a special Center for Michigan Community Conversation! You can be a part of the public policy discussion about important issues facing our state.
Advisers are invited to join us for lunch and MIPA’s annual membership meeting.
Awards will continue in the afternoon and we’ll end with the Spartan Awards presentation.

More Information
Be Part of the Conversation
Join MIPA for this Center for Michigan Community Conversation! You will have the opportunity to share your ideas, priorities, and opinions about college value and affordability in Michigan. This is one of more than 150 conversations taking place statewide – your voice matters! The Center for Michigan will be share your top priorities for improving college value and affordability with state leaders.
Community Conversations are interactive, town hall-style discussions facilitated across the state by the Center for Michigan, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization. In these Conversations, Michigan residents have the opportunity to share their input, ideas, and priorities about important topics for our state’s future. The Center will then be the bullhorn for your views to state leaders. The current round of Conversations, titled “Getting to work: Opportunity and challenges to prosperity in Michigan,” is focused on careers and workforce development. We’ve divided these discussions into three topic areas: career navigation, college value and affordability, and challenges to upward mobility.
On-Site Contests
Sign your students up for the contests! On-Site Contest winners will be announced on the MIPA website after the event. Pay for On-Site Contests when you register.
We have contests to allow students to compete on site, to carry in work they’ve recently produced, to take home special projects and to vote for their favorites in our Students’ Choice Awards!
Annual Meeting
Advisers, meet up with your adviser friends during the adviser luncheon and network with others throughout the day. The annual MIPA business meeting will take place at the luncheon. Students have lunch on their own.
Members vote on candidates for office and receive a report on the operations of the organization.
