MIPA's One Day Workshop provides students and advisers a chance to take their skills to the next level. Spend a day at the Michigan State University School of Journalism getting hands-on training in a variety of skill areas for student media outlets.

Learn how to use Adobe InDesign to create your school newspaper, newsmagazine or yearbook. Topics in this class include: Using tools; Placing text and graphics; Formatting text; Importing photos; Designing a basic page; Using grids effectively; Selecting type; Using libraries and styles

This class will help advisers and future editors prepare for the year ahead. Advisers and future editors should consider taking this course in pairs or small groups. Please bring a laptop, if possible, for your group and copies of your editorial policy, staff manual documents, job descriptions, etc. (Digital copies are OK.)
