General Rules

READ CAREFULLY PLEASE: These contests are only open to participants of MIPA’s Spring Awards & On-Site Contests. If you would like to enter your student(s), please follow these directions.

  • Please review the instructions for each contest area about acceptable file formats of entry materials. Some categories require only a URL to the entry material while others require you to upload a specific file type (such as .PDF or .JPG). Double-check to ensure any URLs work and that your content is not blocked behind a password.
  • Entries that cannot be accessed by the judges will be disqualified. This means that if your website or third-party file sharing service goes down, or if your content is locked behind a password, we cannot judge your entries.
  • Please pay attention to deadlines, which are detailed along with category descriptions. Students/teams competing in on-site contests must check-in by the designated time or they will be disqualified from the competition. Entries must be submitted by the designated time or they will not be accepted for judging.
  • When you register for the conference, you can register for the on-site contests on that online form.
  • You DO NOT NEED to pre-register for any on-site contests, but space is limited. Entry into contest categories will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • You DO NOT NEED to provide students’ names when you register for the event (allowing you to easily make substitutions when you check in). You must provide names with entries.
  • Each school may be limited to a certain number of entries/students/teams per category. See details for each category.
  • Please pay attention to deadlines, which are detailed along with category descriptions. Students/teams competing in on-site contests must check-in by the designated time or they will be disqualified from the competition. Entries must be submitted by the designated time or they will not be accepted for judging.
  • Please Note: Most contests will be judged after the conference. Every effort is made to post winners to MIPA’s website within one week of the event, but judging may take longer.
  • Use of copyrighted music, artwork, videos or other materials without written permission of the copyright holder may violate U.S. law and MIPA’s Copyright & Plagiarism Policy. Entries that violate MIPA’s Copyright & Plagiarism Policy will be disqualified.
