The 2024 MIPA Summer Journalism Workshop runs from Sunday, July 21, to Thursday, July 25. This is an in-person, residential program. Program fees include housing in a university residence hall and meals in the cafeteria.
Participants may enroll in only one workshop course. Courses are listed alphabetically.
Art of Storytelling
In this advanced writing course, you’ll learn to write stories that demand to be read and induce goosebumps, laughter or tears. Participants should have basic journalistic writing skills, consistent with completion of MIPA’s Journalistic Storytelling course or at least one term of a journalism class at school.

In this advanced design course, you’ll explore the intersection of journalism and graphic design with an award-winning creative director for a national media organization.
