Scott Winter, an assistant professor of journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is the featured speaker for the 2012 MIPA Fall Conference on Oct. 23 in Lansing.
Winter taught high school journalism for 10 years at four schools in North Dakota, Minnesota and Colorado, where his students won national Best of Show rankings, Pacemakers, Hemingway Awards from the Kansas City Star and two Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Journalism Awards. He has taught at national high school journalism workshops for more than 15 years.
At Nebraska, Winter teaches media ethics, sportswriting and magazine design.
