Reach the state’s largest single audience of scholastic journalism students and their teachers by being a sponsor and/or exhibitor at MIPA’s Fall Conference in October at the Lansing Center.

About 2,000 high school (and some middle school) students and their advisers are expected to attend our annual event.

Sponsor Opportunities

Sponsorship is a key way to ensure a strong presence at the convention beyond our vendor booths. All sponsor and vendor proceeds are used to fund All-MIPA scholarships for outstanding graduating seniors, MIPA Summer Journalism Workshop scholarships and scholarships for advisers seeking professional development opportunities.

Spartan Level: $2,000 and up

  • Event App. Your ad will appear at the bottom of our official event Guidebook app, which includes detailed information for students. Ad may link to URL of your choice. Ad specs: 600 pixels wide by 110 pixels tall. Send and URL by Oct. 1 to [email protected]
  • Schedule Grid. Even though nearly all of our attendees have an electronic device in their pocket, our 1-page schedule remains popular with many students. Includes logo on the front of the schedule and half-page ad on the reverse side of the schedule, adjacent to venue map. Ad specs: 8 inches wide by 5.125 inches tall. Submit as a black-and-white PDF by Oct. 1 to [email protected]

Vendor Space: $250

MIPA is pleased to welcome vendors and other exhibitors to our Fall Conference in October at the Lansing Center. Vendor/exhibitor space may be reserved for $250, which includes:

  • 1 6-foot table
  • 1 meal ticket to our adviser luncheon
  • 1 event parking pass
  • Mobile app description of your organization, company or service for 100 words or fewer with logo

Exhibitors needing special services – including WiFi, audio/visual or other equipment, setup assistance or electrical service – should make arrangements directly with the Lansing Center. Visit the Lansing Center exhibitor information page and click “order services.” Electric service is $55 if ordered in advance and $80 the day of the event. Prices are subject to change. Per Lansing Center rules, vendors are not permitted to plug into the venue’s wall outlets with their own cords.

Vendors usually are busiest during attendee registration, which runs from 8-9 a.m., and close down by lunch (about 11:30 a.m.) — although vendors are welcome to stay until the end of our event.

The exhibit area will open for setup no later than 7 a.m. the day of event. Exhibit tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sponsors and vendors may also submit proposals for sessions. Please note that not all proposed sessions will be selected for the schedule. Sessions must be educational in nature and must be applicable to all attendees regardless of whether their school is a customer of the vendor. Sessions may not be used to directly promote the vendor’s services (beyond providing basic background information about the speaker and inviting attendees to the vendor’s booth). Vendors are encouraged to work with each other to propose joint sessions. Vendors selected to present a session who do not follow the spirit of these standards will not be allowed to return to MIPA events.
