The Michigan Interscholastic Press Association employs Michigan State University students to help run our headquarters office during the academic year and summer. MIPA headquarters staff members are university employees.
We also contract exceptional educators to teach at our summer workshop; college students from across the state, student media advisers and others to support our summer workshop activities; and other short-term team members as needed to run our various events. These essential team members work as independent contractors for MIPA.
MIPA is a nonprofit organization composed of Michigan scholastic journalism teachers and student media advisers and their students. The organization is committed to promoting and recognizing excellence in journalism at all levels through education, training and support of student journalists and their advisers. MIPA is housed in MSU’s School of Journalism.
