Three Credits
Everything is designed, but not everything is designed well. Learn how to make printed media look great, read well and show voice. This class will cover typography, style, design fundamentals and more. You will become a more confident yearbook or newspaper adviser and will be empowered to strengthen your students’ yearbooks and newspaper design knowledge.
Assignments include several design projects, creating a design portfolio and assembling classroom materials to use in your teaching.

Your instructor will be Betsy Pollard Rau. Rau advised the nationally acclaimed Update at H.H. Dow High School in Midland, Mich, and is the director of the MIPA Summer Journalism Workshop. She speaks and teaches all over the country.
