Objectives:
This course will provide advisers with the knowledge they need to teach their students new ways to tell stories. Journalism is changing every day, and teachers need to keep current. This summer, we’ll concentrate on learning how to set up a blog, capture voice and video and put them on the Web, use Twitter as a teaching tool and explore the internet as a source. Prepare to learn lots of great new tools!
Grading:
You will be expected to complete assignments during the week and a final project. Attendance at all sessions is required.
Organization:
The class will meet for the first time on Monday, July 16, at 9 a.m. Class periods will be 9 a.m to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The class will be over at 2 p.m. on Friday. There will be a closing luncheon at noon. Evenings will be used for homework and open lab use.

Materials to bring (if available):
- A video camera, if you have one. A Flip camera is fine as well.
- A digital camera, if you have one, and a card reader/cables so you can upload photos to computer.
- Flash drive to save work
- iPod, if you have one
- Headphones or earbuds, if you have them
Feel free to bring a laptop if you wish, but it may not have all of the tools/software you will need. We will be meeting in a Macintosh lab.
