The School of Journalism at Michigan State University annually invites high school seniors, juniors and sophomores to bring their parents to visit campus. Tour J-School facilities, talk to faculty and students and learn more about how a degree in journalism from MSU can help you change the world.
Directions to campus are available here. Our program will start at 9 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.

Before you leave campus, MSU’s student-run newspaper invites you for a tour. Visit their office in downtown East Lansing, talk about some of the opportunities you can have working there and meet current staffers. The tour should only last a half hour or so.
The State News is located at 435 E. Grand River Avenue, above Panda Express and Blaze Pizza. You can park in the adjacent multi-colored parking ramp.
The entrance to the office is located in the alley between the building and the parking ramp.

Adjacent visitor parking is available in the parking ramp adjacent to the Communication Arts & Sciences Building (Ramp 5), at Trowbridge and Red Cedar roads. Families who plan to participate in the Admissions Tour may wish to park closer to the center of campus in the visitor parking lots south of Spartan Stadium (Lot 79) and north of Spartan Stadium (Lot 62W). The cost is about 90 cents per half hour.
Ramp 5 adjacent to ComArtSci and Lot 79 on the south side of Spartan Stadium use a Pay by Plate system requiring you to enter your license plate number into one of the kiosks. You may pay with cash (exact change) or credit card, or use MSU’s SpotOn app on your mobile device.
You can view additional on-campus parking options by visiting maps.msu.edu and selecting the “visitor parking” icon in the left-hand menu.
Visitors should be aware that designated handicap-accessible parking, faculty/staff parking, metered parking, and loading zones are enforced at all times. Failure to obey posted signs and regulations may result in ticketing. Michigan State University is not responsible for tickets nor will the university pay for or refund any fines from tickets.
