Whether you’re a writer, photographer, designer, yearbook editor or news anchor — or if you’re just starting to explore journalism — MIPA will help you meet your goals and prepare for whatever challenges lie ahead.
You’ll spend five days living and learning on MSU’s East Lansing campus with some of the best instructors in the nation as you become a better journalist, explore print or digital media creation and find your voice.
Each participant may enroll in one workshop course.
MIPA accepts participants entering grades 7-12 (for the upcoming fall) for any of our workshop courses.
This is an in-person, residential program. Participants will stay in an MSU residence hall with at least one roommate. Meals are provided in a residential hall cafeteria. Workshop sessions are held in MSU classrooms, which may be a short walk from the residence hall. MIPA follows all Michigan State University safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pandemic conditions at the time of our program could result in cancellation or a switch to remote learning.
