Google News Lab Training at MSU

SPJ, the Google News Initiative and the Michigan State University School of Journalism will host a free online training to learn to use some of Google’s suite of tools being used for news.

Tools included in this training may include: Fact-check Explorer, Google Dataset Search, Google Earth Measure tool, Google Earth Timelapse, Google Public Data Explorer, and Flourish interactive graphics and maps

The training is led by Mike Reilley, editor and founder of the Journalist’s Toolbox and a visiting professor in data journalism and digital journalism at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

This event will be held via Zoom and is only open to MSU journalism students, journalism faculty and MIPA-member advisers. Space is limited. Registrants will receive an email with information on how to access the event.

Registration will close at noon Sept. 24.
