MIPA Mentors
Advising can be a lonely job, but MIPA is here to help. In 2004, the MIPA board began a mentorship program for new advisers or those with only a few years of advising experience. Since then more than 60 beginning journalism advisers have been paired with experienced advisers from around the state.

The MIPA Advisers Listserv is provided as a MIPA membership benefit to allow advisers to share successes, seek advice and network with each other.

SponsorMe Fundraising Tool
School-sponsored media programs affiliated with MIPA may create SponsorMe fundraising campaigns to help pay for costs associated with participating in MIPA programs or attending MIPA activities. All funds raised are paid directly to the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association, which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. State Journalism Standards
A committee of MIPA advisers has aligned radio, TV, photography, newspaper and yearbook courses to the state’s Visual Performing and Applied Arts standards. Beginning with the class of 2010, every student must have one credit in the VPAA category to graduate.
