MIPA has put together several shipping options to get award certificates, plaques and honor cords to advisers and students given a potential lack of access to school buildings for the remainder of the academic year.

You may place your own order via our ecommerce system, or use the MIPA Shipping Help Form to let us know your preferences and we’ll help you!
If you do not make shipping arrangements with MIPA, we will hold your items for pickup when our office reopens or at a future MIPA event. Shipping arrangements must be made by the school or adviser. We’re sorry, but at this time we are unable to make shipping arrangements directly with students or parents.
We hope to ship items beginning in early May. Items will not be shipped until payment is received. Checks may be sent to our normal address and we take credit card payments online.
MIPA ships via UPS or U.S. mail, depending on the size and destination of the package. In general, larger or heavier packages will be shipped via UPS. Individual award certificates and small packages are more likely to be shipped via U.S. mail. Shippers often charge higher rates to deliver to residential addresses vs. school addresses, which is reflected in the shipping and handling fees we charge.

You will be able to pay shipping fees during checkout or generate an invoice to give to your business office to pay.

Student Journalist Staff and All-MIPA plaques
- MIPA will send Student Journalist Staff and All-MIPA plaques directly to students at their home addresses. There is no fee for this, and you do not need to take any action.
No-Cost Options
- Pick up at a MIPA event in the 2020-21 school year. (Default option if you don’t make another choice)
- Pick up from the MIPA office after Michigan State University resumes normal office operations. (We are unable to provide guidance on when this could happen.)
- Pick up from Jeremy’s front porch in Lansing.
Ship to School Options
We’ll ship your materials to your school. Please coordinate with other advisers at your school. Our preference is to ship all items going to the same school in the same package. Awards will be sorted and separated within the package by the program (yearbook, print or online newspaper and broadcast program, etc.)
- Award Certificates: MIPA will ship all award certificates for the Individual Category Contest and/or critique Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates to the school. Cost: $5
- Critique Plaques: MIPA will ship one Spartan Award plaque to the school, via UPS Ground. Cost: $10
- Additional plaques: Add $5 each
- Honor Cords: 10 percent shipping and handling fee for honor cord orders, with a minimum fee of $5 and maximum of $10. Orders are shipped UPS Ground.
- WE BUNDLE SHIPMENTS TO SAVE $$! Choose the bundle option to save and ship plaques and certificates together. If you also need honor cords, please use the Shipping Help Form so the MIPA office can put your order together for you for the lowest possible shipping cost.

Ship to Adviser Options
We’ll ship materials to the adviser’s home. If the adviser has mutiple media programs, awards will be sorted and separated within the package by the program.
- Award Certificates: MIPA will ship all award certificates for the Individual Category Contest and/or critique Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates. Cost: $5
- Critique Plaques: MIPA will ship one Spartan Award plaque to the adviser via UPS Ground. Cost: $15
- Additional plaques: Add $5 each

Ship to Student Options
We can ship materials directly to students at home! We also can mail some certificates to students (to your seniors, for example) while sending others to the school or adviser at home, or holding them until fall. Ship to Student orders must be organized by the adviser, who should place a single order for all items to be shipped home to students. We’re sorry, but we are not able to process orders placed by students or parents.
- Award Certificates: MIPA will ship all award certificates for a named student to their home. Cost: $5 per student
- Honor Cords: Package includes cord and a card congratulating the senior for earning the distinction. Cost: $5 per student
- Bundle Award Certificates and Buy Honor Cords. Certificates and honor cords will be shipped in the same package. Cost: $7 shipping per student (does not include the cost of the honor cord). If you also need honor cords, please use the Shipping Help Form so the MIPA office can put your order together for you for the lowest possible shipping cost.
